7mm SAW Questions

If you took a 277 furry case(the brass ones) and necked it up to 7mm you'd have more capacity than a 7-08ai or saw.

Couple questions for you guys...

1. If you currently own/shoot a 7 SAW, what MVs are you seeing? Can you post some photos from your chronos?

2. Which gunsmith's did you use to have your chambers cut? Just WTxOrd or others?

little late to the party but never made an account until now.

I'm shooting a 20 inch 7 saw type 1. so the short chamber. 139 barnes lrx N540 powder I'm at 3020fps. had a pretty good ejector swipe at 3079.

did email wto and Clayton said I might have gotten a pretty quick barrel.

160 accubonds i hit pressure at 2970 and haven't played around with that one to much yet. might stick with the barnes

had Greg Young over at southern precision rifles chamber that up. I rented the reamer from WTO.

I’m getting 2760 fps out of a 24” PBB with 162 ELDM’s. I’ve only shot about 50 rounds through that barrel so I expect it to speed up too. It shoots sub MOA 10 round groups and the recoil is super light, I love it.

I had Clayton chamber it for me since I live 40 min from his shop.

I’m getting 2675 fps from a 22” Bartlein CF barrel shooting Berger 168s. Using IMR 4166. Not really stepping on it at all. Chose a good accuracy load over velocity.

Local gunsmith in MN chambered mine.

Running 162s in a 22” proof I usually get 2726-2800 with no pressure varget loads. I’ve had 150s close to 2900.
