Does anyone have any load data for a 7 saum with an 18" barrel shooting 168 Berger VLDs?

I'm currently in the process of building the rifle so I haven't collected any data, but I am hoping to get around 2,800 fps. I know gunwerks has some data on barrel lengths and velocities for the 7 SAUM.

10-4. Mine has a 22” barrel and I really like it. I don’t have any experience with one that short.

I got my higher velocities with RL26 and IMR7828SSC powder.

Testing a Gwerks right now with a 20" barrel. Velocity is 2877 fps with their factory 168g berger.

Shoots like a dream.

My 7 SAUM has a 22" Proof. I ended up with 60g of RL-23 in ADG brass. This 5-shot group had an average of 2940 with an ES of 16 and SD of 6.4...

Im hoping to have some load data on my 7mm SAUM soon but. . .

FWIW I had a 7mm WSM pushing 168 Berger Classic Hunters out of a 22" barrel. I got to 2850 fps with 58gr of H4350. If you're loading the 168 VLDs long getting 2800 fps out of a 18" barrel might be doable.

From my research a lot of people like RL26 and H1000 in anything 168gr - 180gr.

Just got a 7 saum proof 24". I have H4350, H4831 and H1000. I'd like to keep the H1000 for a different caliber. Anyone have any 168 VLD-H velocity with H4350 or H4831?

I tried H4831 first in my 22” 7 saum and 160 AB’s and 168 vldh’s, I couldn’t break 2850 fps with either bullet. Ended up using 64.4gr H1000, ended up right at 3000 fps and bug hole groups @ 100.

Also tried R26, but had pressure quite quick iirc.

Just got a 7 saum proof 24". I have H4350, H4831 and H1000. I'd like to keep the H1000 for a different caliber. Anyone have any 168 VLD-H velocity with H4350 or H4831?

I have a 24” proof on my saum. I shoot 168 VLD-H with 62 grains of H4831SC and velocity is at 2990. I’ve also shot H1000 with up to 63 grains but was crunching powder and velocity was around 2940 if I remember correctly.

How have primer pockets and brass life been for you all running 3000 fps or close to?

I haven’t noticed any loose primers, but did start cracking the necks on my ADG brass, after the 5-6-7th firings.
