7MM recommendation. 3 choices.

Hey guys

I want to get a 7mm PRC or rem mag for hunting all kinds of game. I have narrowed it down to 3 guns. I eliminated a lot of guns in the 2k price range (including the waypoint 2020 which was hard to do). I picked all these bases on reading many good reviews online, value, accuracy, weight and company reputation. For reference. I currently hunt with a Bergara b-14 hunter (with upgraded stock, trigger, and bottom metal) and I really love it.

Bergara Carbon Crest

Weatherby alpine CT

seekins PH2

I plan on mounting a leupold vx5 or equivalent with Talley rings.

thanks everyone and happy hunting

Seekins… but maybe PH3.

100% go with the Seekins. Currently running one in 6.5 w/ mountain shadow and Apollo Max brake. Also have a Mark 5HD 5-25x56 setting on top. I do believe I will be going with a different scope however, and will be selling the Mark 5 for something with a SFP.

Also, I am looking at another Seekins in 7 PRC, but I prefer a shorter barrel than the 26" in the PH2. I think I'd like it in a 22.
Have you sold the leupold yet?

In my opinion, the best argument against the Seekins PH2 is the Seekins PH3.

Having said that, the Bergara and the 307 are both Remington 700 footprints, and as much as I like what Seekins has done so far, the PH3 is (in my opinion) such as significant improvement over the PH2 that I think there is a risk of the older Seekins rifles becoming orphans for parts and upgrades. If the Weatherby is in your price range, the PH3 is too and even if it takes some time, I think its worth waiting for.I really like the chassis/action interface they are using and the switch barrel + interchangeable bolt face.
