Looking to buy 7mm prc. Want to stay under 2000. Have been looking at Weatherby 307 and cva cascade long distance hunter.
Want to use this from whitetail to elk. Any suggestions? Thanks

I would wait to see if Tikka will be offering one after shot show.
I had written them off and was about to order a Browning that is on Christmas sale. Now I’m fighting the urge to wait and see if they do come out with one in January.

I was pretty disappointed last year when they didn’t come out with one. So I’m having one built by UM on a Tikka action. It’s just about done, so I figured Tikka will surely offer one now.😁

Ok, I decided to hold off and see if they come out with one. If not, hopefully the rifles will go back on sale for Memorial Day or something. I’m hoping for a 7mm prc with a threaded 22” barrel. Come on Tikka!

Sorry to hijack your post. The three I was looking at were the Browning x-bolt 2 ( never heard of a Browning that didn’t shoot well), Bergara Wilderness Sierra (friend just bought one and it shoots great), and the CVA LRH (great reviews everywhere I have seen).

I have the new Christensen MCR, love it. That thing shoots. Euro optic has it right around 2100.

I’ve also been looking at Seekins Havak. Any thoughts on them?

I’d look at Seekins if I were you. The PH2 is within your price range. The Element is outside of it, but with current Christmas sales, less so than normal.

Backfiretv (YouTube) just did an episode on the PH2 in 7PRC. He did one a while back on the Element. I think the punchline from both is that they’re well made and reliable. They’re light weight, so if you go the Element route in a magnum cartridge, you’ll want a suppressor or brake.

Rumor is that Seekins is going to announce the PH3 at SHOT in January.

I'm in the same boat, looking at the 307 or Bergara Carbon Wilderness Ridge but open to anything. Have you decided on anything yet ?

The more I have researched and talked to people I think I’m going with Seekins Havak ph2.

Looking at the seekins and it looks like it only comes with a 26" barrel. Is Bergara or weatherby really that bad? I liked the way the Bergara felt in hand, there's not a lot of other options out there for a suppressor setup

I picked up the Seekins Element in 7 PRC (was on sale for $2450). I really like the rifle. Had some minor pressure signs even though it was grouping fine and Seekins didn't hesitate to have me send it in so they could go through it. They had it back to me within 2 weeks no questions asked. While I wasn't thrilled about having to send in a new $2k rifle for warranty work, their customer service is simply top-notch.

Part of me wishes I would have saved the $ and gone with the PH2 then just chopped the barrel down. But I am certainly not mad about how light that thing is!

I have handled the 307 in 7 RM and have an xbolt. Both are very nice rifles. I saw the 307's are actually on sale for $1,100 right now. That's tough to ignore....

Thanks for the input. I did check out the element, it's just all a little pricey for me after the cost of a good scope and suppressor. I currently have an x bolt and it's awesome but the rifle they have set-up for suppressor is really heavy for what I'm looking for. I guess I would consider the Element if it was on sale. Also am curious if anyone might be coming out with anything new after the first of the year. I'm looking g to buy before April 1st to avoid the new Colorado tax!
