7mm Backcountry 16.5" or 18"

I bought a Savage 110 16.5” 7mm BC for “funsies.”

175 Fusion - 2802.4fps
155 Terminal Ascent - 3025.8fps
170 Terminal Ascent - 2884.3fps
168 LRX - 2907.8fps
195 Berger - 2704.8fps.

This was all suppressed with a CGS Hyperion-K.
Thanks for posting this, very helpful in my decision making

Hey all,

Could use some help in a decision.

I was debating between 2 7mm Backcountry builds:

Rifle#1
Proof research mtr 2.0. 16.5 inch barrel, origin action

rifle #2
Custom build with MDT HN26 chasis. Same barrel and action.

Rifle 2 weighs a 1/2 lb less.

Rifle 1 is 3400
Rifle 2 is 5200

Any thoughts or does anyone own any of these??

What are the total rifle weights? What will be the use case strictly back country hunts?

The Proof MTR will be 8 lbs with scope
The MDT will be just under 8 lbs.

Yes mostly for Hunts in Idaho and Montana. Walking a bunch.
