7BC: the ammo or the gun

Hello.

I recently picked up a savage 110 from a buddy. Ordered some 150/170 BC for it and went shooting yesterday.

As I was shooting I had some stuck cases that had to be mortared out of the action to get unstuck.

I can now take these same “brass” load them into the rifle (fired already) and have to mortar these again to get them out. The other brass do not get stuck like that.


I emailed federal and am waiting to hear back.

I heard federal has some problems early on either ammo. Is that ammo still floating around out there that I got one (3) of those boxes?

Or

Is there a problem with this savage. 110 Ultra lite hunter 16in barrel.

What do you all think? I’m not too smart in these matters. But I’m catching up to speed.

I’m sure there’s still left over ammo especially back stock from the initial drop.

I heard rumors that federal will swap “bad” lots for good ones but don’t know how true that is

Federal got back with me and said the lot was new. They sent a box of ammo out of curtesy which is awesome. the gun is at the smith getting it checked out before we contact savage.
