7 SAW

We are about 2925 without pushing on it real hard. I can't recall the charge weight but we're loading varget.
sounds pretty good. been shooting N540 43.8g at 3020 fps 20 inch barrel saw 1 chamber. hit pressure somewhere around 45 at 3090.

That's really good! My boy's barrel is 24" and chambered saw1 as well. I may have to stand on it a bit more this winter. My original hope was to be closer to 3050+ but we ran out of time to tinker before hunting season.

thinking I got a fast barrel. haven't played with varget at all so I can't say what you'll end up at. but if you cant get what your after id try out N540 or even N550. seems decently temp stable. haven't shot it in the 80*+ days or -30 yet. but it's been acceptable from 20 to 60 so far

I don’t remember the grain but a Hammer 131, N550, BR4’s and alpha stamped brass combo produced the tightest group I have ever shot. If you like monos give it a try. I just have a hard time getting away from shooting a 162eldm in the 7SAW. That velocity bracket around 2650ish seems like magic for the eldm’s terminal performance.

22” bartlein carbon #13 contour w/8.5 twist. 2936avg on garmin with 45gr of N550. I had a slight swipe at 46gr and 3018avg so I backed off a bit.

should add that my velocitys are from a magneetospeed sporter. battery at 7.4v. not sure how much of a difference that makes compared to a garmin. I'd like to try it over a few different chronys some day.

Finnally got my Type II reamer in, so I'll be joining the 7 SAW club before too long. I'll update with load data down the road. I've got 8 lbs of Varget and a good many bullets to test, 120s up through 168s. Probably going to end up at 18-19" suppressed, so it'll be interesting to see what MVs I can achieve.
