I started handloading years ago because I couldn't find premium bullet factory ammo for my 7mag. I always used 175gr Partitions and A-frames. The Partitions shoot better at distance, but they both hit hard and work. These days there are all kinds of decent bullets loaded in factory ammo.......Partitions, Accubonds, Barnes, etc.

For a time I did shoot Nosler Partitions, changed to Barnes TTSX. Barnes shot better from my guns.

Anyone used Winchester Expedition Big Game with 168gr. Nosler Accubond LR in their 7mm? They have a rebate going right now for $10 back per box up to two boxes so it comes in around $30 per box. I’m mostly a bow hunter but I drew a cow tag for rifle this year. I have a Tikka T3.

We had very good success with a the 7 mag with 154g hornady SP with a max load of R#25, Win mag primer at 3200 fps.

This load shoots holes through both shoulder of large hogs on broadside shots.

A few years back, I got two bulls over a couple of years, shot both with the then new 140g Nosler ballistic tip at 3250 fps. 200 yard running shots, grave yard dead when they hit the ground. Glad I did not hit the shoulder.

When I lived in Az., the #1 elk rifle was 30/06 and #2 was 270 Winchester, both with K Mart ammo. Many Experienced hunters that drew Cow tags preferred the 243 Winchester with K mart ammo.

My model 70 loves the 175 grain Remington corelokts. Not the trendy pic but its still the deadliest mushroom in the woods. Ballistic coefficient is much higher on the 175 than the 150grain. Best factory loading ive found.
