I had a few minutes this morning & was able to use my garmin chrono for the first time. I saw several videos about how the velocity is way off on the 7 prc’s, I only shot the Barnes 160 LRX factory loads today but 5 shot average was 3066.9 & advertised velocity is 3050. I have some norma 165 bond strikes to try next . The rifle is CA Ridgeline 24” 7 PRC. The only thing I’ve changed is I swapped the radial brake for their side baffle.IMG_8759.png

why would the chrono be off on 7prc? what are they saying is the cause? lots of rifles out there with more velocity with no issues.

Yes sorry if I misspoke. Thinking back I think most complaints were with the Hornady ammo & this gun & Hornady don’t get along.

This is from my seekins 6.5 prc shooting Hornady 143 & 147s.

I believe that the velocity issue was with Hornady factory ammo. They were a couple hundred feet per second slower than the velocity printed on the box.

Interested to see what fps the Norma Bondstrike puts out. Haven't tried them in my 7PRC but my Tikka 6.5 PRC shoots the 143 Norma Bondstrike under MOA. Gonna use these in the 6.5 PRC in Colorado on my elk hunt in a couple weeks. And for some reason Hornady ammo usually chrono's slower than advertised.

I also have the 143’s for my 6.5 prc but haven’t tried them yet.
