7 PRC CARBON BARREL??

What’s the most accurate, best made carbon barrel for an ultra lite rife build paired with the mdt hnt 26 stock?
I have a proof research 26' barrel and shoot groups 1/4 inch MOA at 200 yards. I just put on the MDT HNT Stock on and I love it. I used to have the MDT Oryx chassis and it shot well but it was a 12lb rifle

Other than sumthin gimmicky cool I don’t really understand the allure with carbon fiber barrels.
They’re not lighter, seem way more finicky with heat, and no where near as durable. Much higher likelihood of gettin one that won’t shoot. Pit Viper shades and a backwards ball cap comes to mind.

I have a proof 22” prefit and a benchmark 24, both of them are sendaro. I can get the proof to shoot 3/4 and the benchmark to shoot 1/2. What I’ve found is that I have to cool both barrels down after about the third shot to get really good groups. The rifle is fairly light but knowing what I know now I would go with a steel barrel and have it fluted. The proof was also throated long from the beginning and to get the jumps I wanted on bullets like the 180 hybrids I didn’t feel like I had enough of the bullets bearing surface inside the neck.

Agreed, I suppose I should of explained better. IMHO light weight contours start at say a #2 contour and go from there. Bart only does CM if going less than 2b, but the 2b is a heck of a nice one to build on. Hart or Lilja will do some skinnier contours in stainless but most don't want button rifled these days. Benchmark seems to be putting out some great barrels and I think they will do one on the light side??

Good thing is - lots of great options for the OP (y)
I have a SS Benchmark barrel in a Remington 700 KS contour on my 280 AI. It is light and it puts 160 gr Accubonds in little tiny groups.
