7 PRC ammo choice

A little technique i use with factory ammo that helps accuracy a little bit is i run my ammo through a Lee factory crimp die. My theory is it helps equalize neck tension. Useful for me when I don't have time or interest in working up handloads

just picked up my 7 PRC and trying to decide how to start with ammo and zeroing
I think I am down to Federal Fusion Tipped - 175 and Hornady 175 ELDX
Does anyone have any range knowledge for drop and wind drift with the lower BC on Federal vs. Hornady
I've definitely heard some concerns about Hornady consistency which also has me concerned for my 6.5 CM going forward.

So what I ended up doing is plugging my bullets into the calculator and figuring out lethal ranges for each bullet. What I found was that even out of a short barrel it didn’t really matter what bullet I chose, it was going to be lethal at the kind of ranges I am willing to shoot. If you are concerned with Hornady going forward, I would recommend looking for the federal loaded with eldx. That was the combo that shot the best out of my gun, followed by the accubond 160’s.

Also... does anyone have experience shooting Choice Ammunition as an option?

interesting.... i don't have a press or any handloading equipment, but I will do a little research - thx

Thanks - yes, a couple of the points I've found is that the Fusion tipped would be better at shorter distances and the Hornady ELDX at longer range. I'll look into the Federal ELDX - didn't have it available in store when I was shopping, but will find it I'm certain. The 168 Berger VLD is of interest, but certainly much less common and why I was curious our Choice Ammo. $ pricey / "100% Hand Loaded"

Ive had good luck with Terminal Ascents and ELD-M
I have two 7 prcs both custom.
One barrel is HCA 22" 1:8
One is PROOF 22" 1:8
the HCA is far less picky and seems to hold tighter groups longer.

I finished my 7PRC for my upcoming elk/Shiraz hunt in BC. The gun shoots the ELDM fantastic, but I didn’t want to hunt with that bullet. I’m getting pretty good results with Federal Terminal Ascents, and the ELDX, but the 170 TA will be my hunting round. Verified my dope chart to 400 yards a final time this morning. Hoping to get a chance to use it in a couple of weeks.
I wish I could get my hands on some 7mm terminal ascent bullets. My gun shoots 175 ELDX’s pretty well. I may retire that bullet for hunting though, due to what I’ve seen on my game under 200 yards.

It looks like you can order them online through midway right now. If the don’t shoot well and you still want a bonded bullet give the accubond 160 a shot. They shot great out of my gun, and I have seen how they preform on game out of a 7 rem mag. Shot a cow elk last year frontal at sub 100 yards. Bullet travelled from center chest and I found it in her pelvis.
