7 oz, 3-layer Gortex rain jacket—apparently so

I’ve got to use it in several more rain storms; I’ll have my review sent in the next day or two.

Spoiler—if you’re looking for a lightweight, 3-layer rain jacket, I’d grab it.

I have to Arcteryx jackets that are bombproof and have proven super waterproof but no pit zips so I lose flexibility to move very fast in them.
Thanks for the review @mtwarden as this weight for a rain jacket has become most interesting for hunting in the west where the number of hours/days I've actually worn a rain jacket for rain is minimal.

For hunting in Western MT or the Rockies do you really see the need for anything heavier than this?

I wear my rain jacket more for wind protection than rain. In harder rain it seems like the elk in Sept have been hunkered down, visibility poor for glassing and the rain doesn't last long. I had been carrying a heavy rain jacket which basically only got used to protect against light rain or strong, cold wind.

I also just got the OR Stratoburst in same weight range 8.5oz because it's 2.5 layer, has pit zips and adjustable hood. This weight segment seems ideal for hunters who may not spend much extended time in rain or NEED to cover a certain number of miles on a thru hike.

Figure that if it's pouring, I'll most likely make it back to camp to wait it out and be ready for when the animals come out right when it slows to a stop, where this level of rain protection should be just fine.

thx
