Both. Federal told me some of the initial 7 BC rounds shipped with higher than anticipated pressure, but safely within spec.So do you think the issue is that 1 of the rifles is not built well or more of an issue with the round or Federal manufactoring ammo without reliability?
The cases are reloadable. The matte cases are not but the nickle plated are good to go. People are even making brass analogsMaybe I’m just a small cartridge weenie anymore but I’m not sure I’ve ever been less interested in a cartridge than this one.
Non reloadable cases, 80k+ PSI next to my beautiful face… kinda’ seems like the answer to an unasked question.
Hope they all work out for you guys.
Are the nickel plated cases nickel plated brass, or the alloy material that’ll take 80k psi?The cases are reloadable. The matte cases are not but the nickle plated are good to go. People are even making brass analogs
there reloadable now. and whats the difference between 65K PSI over 80K PSI next to your face....Maybe I’m just a small cartridge weenie anymore but I’m not sure I’ve ever been less interested in a cartridge than this one.

Which cases are reloadable? Last I’d seen, the alloy cases sounded like they needed basically a pneumatic press, with the amount of force required, or a multi step sizing process with special lube. Legitimately curious here.there reloadable now. and whats the difference between 65K PSI over 80K PSI next to your face....
It is a simple difference in coating. The Nickel plated cases are 100% plated inside and out. The Tipped Fusion cases are only coated on the outside. So the inside is exposed alloy allowing the potential for corrosion. The material of the case is identical.Quick google search informed me of my ignorance… that’s a step in the right direction if the nickel plated cases can be sized normally.
I think the appeal is for the non reloader, me being one of them. I dedicate time to other things and being able to have a factory load optimized for short packages,I’m not seeing the woohoo about this cartridge at all. I’m pretty sure I’ve pushed ADG and Peterson brass close to mid 70k with no issues other than expanded primer pockets after 2 or 3 reloads pitch them and buy some more. You really have to do something really stupid to blow a bolt action up, a break open, pump and auto you sure can more easily. Most hunters on here can get by with a 16” barrel 308 WIN shooting a 178 ELD-M 2550 fps not going to shoot over 300 yards anyway. I’ll go to another thread on here and they will be telling you all you need is a 223 REM 88 ELD-M. Funny how we all waste a lot of money and time on and doing stupid
.
There’s plenty of short package cartridge options available that are less expensive. With more ammo options and availability at much cheaper prices. One word describes the 7 BC “GIMMICK” meaning, a novel device, trick, or feature designed primarily to attract attention, increase appeal, or boost sales, often with little lasting valueI think the appeal is for the non reloader, me being one of them.
