I have a few hundred of the Sig 277 fury hybrid cases I bought for a screaming deal a while back. Trying to figure out what to do with em. Necked down/unfired case capacity is 56.2gr, lapua 6mm creed is 51.8 according to my scale. Coal is pretty long with the 112 match burner, 2.980 the 109 eldm is 2.950, there is still a bit of bearing surface above the neck, freebore needed will be around 0.175. These would run perfectly from Tikka M+ mags. Performance should be directly in line with a 243 ackley, as these hybrid case heads handle a lot of pressure in testing. I might have a reamer made and toy with it over winter. Anyways, let me know what you think, or if you've played with a similar capacity 6mm! Largest 6mm I've loaded for thus far on standard bolt face has been the creed, however I do have a 6saum and 6prc being built.

I'd build one. I wish the Fury components were more readily available. Hopefully we'll see more of it once the military gets it's stockpiles.

It’s a 243win. Used at full pressure with the hybrid cases, you’ll be far above a 243AI.

It looks like a different shoulder angle than a 243 win. Likely similar in size but a different chamber?
30° shoulder, less taper. The hybrid case head takes up less capacity steel VS brass. It's larger than standard 243, and a lil smaller than 243ai. Forming this case into a 243ai, would be the largest capacity possible. I have saw a fellas 260ai formed from the hybrid cases and they held just under 58gr volume. He had140s going over 3200 with rl26, believe a 26" barrel. That's 65saum speeds. I'm sure he was over 80k psi to get it too.

Obviously they won’t, heads won’t expand and primer pockets won’t open up
They are not intended to be reloaded but the weak point is the junction between the steel head and brass body

There are a handful of guys who have reloaded them with success. I've shot 20 of em through a rifle and resized no problem.

I have formed them to both 260AI and .308Win.

I have run the 260AI with a 24” barrel up to 3236fps with a 140 match burner and 55 grains of RL26. That as much as the case would hold and still be able to seat the bullet. The load above did pierce a Fed 215 primer. It would probably hold with a CCI34. And I’ve reloaded these cases 3 times now with no issues.

I haven’t shot the 308 Win yet but I’ve loaded up both 155 and 175 TMKs to see what they come up with in my R700 5R Milspec .308. It has a cavernous free bore so I’m sure I’ll run out of case capacity before maxing out pressure.

Love it. And, it might very well be a moral crime if you don't do this project. While you're at it...what red-blooded American wouldn't also want to see what it could do in .22?

I’ve tried to resize one down to 22-250AI but have not been successful so far. The shoulders keep creasing and it’s not quite pushed back far enough even though my die is camming over hard on the press.

RL26 is a little bulky for the case capacity. Give lever evolution a try for max speed in the fury case for the 260ai.

A 6mm fury would be pretty great even at 65kpsi. Brass would last forever.

Do you have a 40 degree shoulder on the 22-250? The fury is only 30 degrees but I think the shoulder is further forward..?
I think you'd have a hard time getting that to form without that issue. You'd almost need a custom 22-277 fury reamer and dies.
Ive formed 277 fury into standard 338f brass by using a 6mm to 308 mandrel, a 308 to 338 mandrel and then a full length 338f die. The 338f has a 20 degree shoulder but it's further back. I've not had crushed cases doing that.

The fury is 2.02 long and only has a 0.270 long neck. So the neck/shoulder is way further forward of where a 22-250 neck/shoulder is. This case would do well with any the 243 260 7mm08 308 improved varients. But it's not the best for forming shorter cases. A guy on LRH has made 6.5cm out of them, believe he goes by @45-70 I formed some up for my deep set 25cm chamber, but sizing the shoulder back 0.040 even creased the shoulders. Most of it formed out, but some still have some light wrinkles. This case with the 35° shoulder/neck geometry and taper of a 6gt, would be an absolute beast. However the custom dies associated would be a pain in the ass to get right.
