6mm creedmoor tikka project.

Possibly need the M+ mag? I could be wrong. I’m really not a tikka guy, but I thought I saw somewhere 6.5 creed used a mag with a little longer internal length. Someone else might know better.

yep, can use the M+ mag with a lot of the short actions. Might need to modify the bolt stop to feed.

A Tikka in 6 Creedmoor is #1 or #2 on the list for my next build if it ever happens. Already have a Mcmillan Game Hunter for it but I already have too many guns lol! W ould kind of rather Tikka just chamber it then I don't have to spend so much cash?

I'm building a 6.5-284 on my Tikka 270 right now, but I can see picking up another and spinning on a 6CM to drop in my Sako Hunter stock for a nice, light hunter.

I’ve had a handful of 20” 6mm creeds and several 6x47 lapuas 20” and they would run a 108 at 3050-3150 depending on barrel and 69gr bergers at 3580-3630 depending on the barrel.

What's the main draw to 6 CM typically? Is it just a low recoil target/practice round like 6x47 or are guys hunting with it? Basically I'm trying to figure out what my excuse is to get one.

Like a 243 but normally twisted and throated properly for today’s bullets. Plus factory ammo shoots accurately with decent velocity...

I’ve been threatening to do this ever since I got my wife a cheap Ruger American 6mm Creed. Nothing would be better except the 25creedmoor I’m planning..

Haven’t gotten a chance to shoot yet, waiting on rings and nicer weather. I just ordered the barrel from midway. One of the few places that had it in stock.

can you elaborate and compare these? which has the longer neck? which has the most capacity? general observations. dies?

i just got a new barrel in to replace a worn out 243.

I did not. Ended up selling it not long after I put it together. I gotta imagine it hunted a lot like any other tikka. Probably very comparable to a T3x in 243.. I have no doubt that it would have made a excellent deer and antelope gun.

What compelled you to end up selling it?

I've just never warmed up to the tikkas. I've bought and sold a few in all sorts of configurations. They always shoot well, they just don't do it for me. That and I put the money towards a custom I was building. Some people hold onto everything. If I'm not using it or I don't love it, it goes down the road...
