My 25 prc with a tikka hybrid lite didnt last long shooting NRL . Maybe 700 shots. 3 2 days and 3 1 days. Was supposed to be my #1 hunting gun but it shot so well...oops

(Shot it recently...either my loads sucked or its toast...3020 fps, 3020 fps, 2850 fps )

A hot 6 prc with 120s might get you 2 or 3x 2 day matches

I will shoot some deer with one this year out of an 18" 6 creed if I can get them. With that said, I have no issues with the 108 elite hunters but more is more better.

These were shot in both 7 and 7.5 twist barrels during verification/validation without any issues shown.

I can’t remember barrel lengths and exact velocities, sorry.

I didn’t get too excited about them because with their lower muzzle velocity and lower killing threshold velocity, they actually lose out on killing distance to 116 TMKs cartridge for cartridge.

These will do well and should popular for shooting games.

Also, I personally wouldn’t hesitate one bit to shoot them into critters.

I'm not sure the juice is worth the squeeze with what we'll get out of an 18" creed.

I ran the berger ballistic calculator for both bullets with estimated velocity on the 120's (my 108 eh load -200fps) and the 108 seems to beat it in drop and effectively tie for windage. If I could get the 120 within 100fps of my 108 load it looks like the 120 would save me 1" on windage but have 2" additional drop at 500. Past that it starts to slightly pull away on windage but not by much. Effective range is also not much different. I think these need more gas to make them worth it personally

Are these the pointed ones that have very erratic terminal performance in .26 and other calibers?

The 135 shoots really well in my 25x7prc. Im using the 133 for hunting because they were easy enough to find in large numbers when i needed them but i woudnt shy away from the 135.

I ordered 5k through local dealer yesterday. It's a gamer bullet for sure. I run 115s at 2820-2830 right now in the 6gt for matches, I'm sure this will do well around 2780-2800mv from my 28in tubes. Basically making it the same/slightly better wind calls as my 25x47 with 135s at 2750mv, all with lower recoil and similar barrel life.

I don't see an advantage over any the current effective 108-116gr hunting bullets inside the normal hunting ranges.

Totally agree with you. My use case for deer hunting is 100yds and in so slowing it down might help just a bit. My goal is really to see how they work on game. The characteristics I want in a bullet for that range are slightly different than what everyone wants in a long range bullet and slowing it down a bit might be exactly what I'm looking for. Plus it will serve as a litmus test for how it behaves at mid range impacts out of a faster gun.

I would like to see how it compares in a magnum cartridge against my 25 western shooting 135s. The BC is almost identical and if I can get similar or better velocity and lower recoil at the same time, that would be a winner. That's all assuming that the terminal performance is on point.

Hmmm... Re-barrel 25-284 to 6-284? Rebarrel 6.5 WSM to 6 WSM... Sometimes I hate this place... LOL!

EDIT: According to the interwebs, a .321 G7 is equivalent to a .645 G1. The 134 ELDM has a .645 already, so very little value rebarrelling the 25-284. Very cool bullet though

That’s where the +Peak will come into play.
