6mm ARC Velocities

Ran my 108 factory rounds last night through my 20" AR
Average was 2633.
The 108s defiantly shoot much better than the 103s Not bolt action rifle accurate but the last 3 rounds were right at 1.1MOA

Seeing the recent 95 TMK results I’m thinking the lower expansion velocity and ARC case might be the ticket.

Anyone know what speed is possible with 95 TMK in a 16” AR but running non gassed as a repeater.

I see 2650 pushing 2700 several pages back with Lever. I’m going to order some and see what I can gain over 108 ELDM for terminal velocity distance.

Don't be a moron. I had my 6ARC shooting everything accurately with my Dead Air Nomad. What do morons do?

They think they can change to their new AB Raptor 8 and all they have to do is sight the rifle in to the new point of aim.

Now, I need to retest my "final loads" I was testing on Sunday because I couldn't shoot 2 MOA groups with the Raptor.

I know the gun will shoot Hornady 108 Match ammo accurately with the Nomad, but I have not used factory ammo on game in the past five years.

New Plan:
1) Retest 75g Hammer Loads - 2,959 FPS
2) Retest 95g AccuBond Loads - 2,890 FPS
3) Retest 108g Hornady Match loads

Zero with the winner and lock rifle in case until my hunt next month.

Retested the Hammer and AccuBond.
The AB hit the same numbers on fps and remained accurate.
I backed the Hammer load down .5 grains to 2883fps.

2700 is probably the max you’ll get it accurate. Maybe a little over if you can throat it and load longer, but for some reason I’m thinking the longest it could even be loaded is like 2.3”. I’ll have to look back at notes but don’t think you’re stretching it. 30gr lever in that case gets the 95 moving!

Looks like your doing an AR sans gas system? I have a 16" bca bolt action upper I'm starting to develop a load for next week, my understanding is the bolt/extractor is still the weak point to pressure no? I may look into 95 for the AR and keep 108 for my bolt gun. Is the 95 still 1800ish min expansion? Can almost get 550y with that at 2700

You’ll be happy with the 95’s in 6ARC. Match bullets don’t have a published minimum expansion velocity. The number that gets thrown out is 1800. There are reports of them upsetting and performing acceptably on target at velocities below that.

Awesome, I will order some up. I do plan to see about pushing a little beyond Hornady AR loads if no signs show. I ordered an extra bolt/extractor as well. Bolt breakage dont seem to be as common as people make it out but better to have one on hand I guess, I was hoping removing the gas system from the equation would help with that as well, we shall see.

What powder? Charge weight?
