Anyone see the new Federal Factory 108 Berger Target load that is coming out in the Gold Metal Match line? Midway has it as coming soon but doesn't have a velocity number with it yet.
Jay
I'm glad to see options other than the big red H. I just hope that it isn't anemic gas gun speeds. A 2750 fps 108 grain factory load would be a game changer.Interesting. I might get a box and if I my rifle likes it, I’ll try to reverse engineer it.
UPDATE: I added a suppressor and swapped out the MagnetoSpeed Sporter for a Garmin Xero C1 and averaged 2652 FPS with that 20" faxon barrelled AR for rounds 70-90 on the barrel. Same lot ammoI average 2578 FPS from a 20 inch Faxon-barreled AR with factory 108 ELDM after 40 rounds.
Just curious which gas block did you go with? Adjustable?Didn’t see a threads specifically for 6 ARC, so figured I’d get this going for people to share velocities and barrel lengths on their 6 ARC. This should help folks get a baseline of what to expect when they are considering building one.
16” Proof stainless AR barrel, suppressor, factory ammo. Accuracy was about equal between the factory 108 eldm and factory 103 eldx. These are the first shots down the barrel so I am expecting them to speed up and settle in a little.

What kind of case do you have on your chrono?
What kind of case do you have on your chrono?
My 22-250 is sensitive like that too. If I change suppressors the group opens way up. Learned that right before an out of state tripDon't be a moron. I had my 6ARC shooting everything accurately with my Dead Air Nomad. What do morons do?
They think they can change to their new AB Raptor 8 and all they have to do is sight the rifle in to the new point of aim.
Now, I need to retest my "final loads" I was testing on Sunday because I couldn't shoot 2 MOA groups with the Raptor.
I know the gun will shoot Hornady 108 Match ammo accurately with the Nomad, but I have used factory ammo on game in the past five years.
New Plan:
1) Retest 75g Hammer Loads - 2,959 FPS
2) Retest 95g AccuBond Loads - 2,890 FPS
3) Retest 108g Hornady Match loads
Zero with the winner and lock rifle in case until my hunt next month.
I got some Reloader 15.5 I will be experimenting in my Howa Mini with the 16.5" barrel. The burn rate is close to LVR but an actual temp stable powder. Hopefully with Alpha brass I can get the 109s around that 2700 fps range.I'm in the process of working up a new load with N540 for my 16" Howa Mini. My goal starting out was to push the 108s at 2650 fps to make my quick drops easy out to 450m with a 6mph wind hold

108 ELDM is sitting about .010 off the lands with a COAL of 2.29, brass is once fired Hornady, CCI BR4 primer.
The previous load was 30.8gr of leverevolution which gave me between 2776 fps @ 86f and 2706 @ -4f. This showed some light ejector swipes but nothing crazy. Accuracy is ok with 1.25" 10 shot groups at 100. When I was working it up I pushed 2820 fps with 31.2gr on a warm day but the bolt lift was a bit heavy.
Now that I've had my fun pushing things fast, my goal with N540 is to get some more temp stability while hitting that 2650 mv as previously stated
What I've landed on so far is 28.8gr of N540 which is giving me 2644 fps @ 34f and 2654 @ 68f. No pressure signs so far with this load, barely started showing the ejector at 29gr pushing 2674 fps
I'll be loading up some this evening to test for accuracy later this week.
Very interested in how that works for you, keep us posted.I got some Reloader 15.5 I will be experimenting in my Howa Mini with the 16.5" barrel. The burn rate is close to LVR but an actual temp stable powder. Hopefully with Alpha brass I can get the 109s around that 2700 fps range.
