Looking to pick up my first suppressor for my rifle
Ruger American gen 2 6mm arc ranch model.

I want to keep the project at a reasonable price, say less than 1k.
Been reading and researching here and elsewhere and this is what I’ve come up with and the 2 dealers that have them in stock.

Capital Armory
Resilient
Jolene S $650
Simple man $499

Otter creek
Polonium $550

Scilencerco Omgea 300 DT (CA has some sort of 1st responder discount on this one)

Silencer shop
AB A 10 7.62 $480
Resilient - simple man $480, Jolene s $650, Stacy’s mom $554
And yankee hill R9

I’m within an hour of a couple of SS kiosks
SS trust $25.00 for one unit
CA trust $80.00 for multiple units from what I understand

SS seems like the easiest, I buy, go to a kiosk and do everything
With CA, do I just get on line and fill out the forms and do a mail in finger print card?

Probably a dumb question. Does this literally screw on the end of the barrel?
Hand tight?

Stores that deal with silincershop have been super easy for me. I’m sure the ones you’ve listed are more alike than different. From your list I have a polonium and it is fine. A friend has a simple man and it is too. The AB supressors come recommended enough I’d get one of those in a second too. I’m interested in the first responder discounts but haven’t followed through with them yet. Dead air offers it too but I didn’t find that out until after getting the dead air models I have. If your barrel is large enough you can get 5/8x24 threads and thread the suppressor right on. Some with smaller barrels have done the same and had the smith add a little collar for the suppressor to shoulder against. I have several barrels with 1/2x28 threads and have just swapped the back plate or HUB from 5/8 to 1/2 and screwed that directly on. More than one way to skin that cat. I would just look at the specs on those in your budget and try to stay on the shorter and lighter side. Hope this helps some.

I am a fan of the AB A-10. Heck of a can for 500. Mine is on my 6 arc AR. Yes, they just screw on to a threaded barrel. Have to make sure the direct thread/hub mount is the same thread as your barrel.

Silencer shop does make it easy. It gets easier after the first one.

Ruger gen II 6 arc with YHM resonator r2. I was in the suppressor 780 before a tax stamp, older tech, but a solid piece of gear .

I have the polo K, and AB A-10. I think they are both solid choices if ballin on a budget. And neither feel like a boat anchor hanging off the end of the barrels both 22” but may be different for you depending on how your rifles balances.

You might add the DD wolf hunter to your list as well. Might be a bit more, but it is Ti, so lighter.

If it’s not going to also see duty on a semi auto in the future, I’d likely go Jolene S for better rifle balance. Worth the extra $$. The Simple Man would be good if using on both kinds of rifles, as the steel handles mirage better.

Went with the AB 10 7.62 model
Spoke with SS and the local dealer with a Kiosk. Seems pretty simple
Called AB and they confirmed this will screw right on my Ruger. And it will work with a 7mm08 I plan to buy next.
Heading to the Kiosk Friday

Kiosk is done.
Super simple. I don’t know how silencer shop hasn’t cornered the market with these kiosks.
Used Valley Outdoors in Hurricane WV, about 40 minutes from me. Super helpful people!
Anybody in the region check them out. The place is huge and a few rifles I looked at seemed to be priced well.

Question- I see form 1 and hear firm 4 mentioned. Do I go to ATF and fill these out?
My SS dashboard has a spot for form 1 in it?

You need an atf number. But SS will walk you through the whole process. Nothing for you to have to figure out on your own

I’d get the DD wolf hunter.
Just signed everything
I’ll have to check that one out
Thanks for the help and suggestions all!
Hope documenting my process will help others that might have questions

Form 1 is if you make an nfa item. Form 4 is a transfer of a nfa item from dealer to individual. Form 3 is dealer to dealer transfer, form 5 is a no cost transfer to an heir after death.

You need a atf e-forms account, then your dealer will file the form 4 using SS software. You enter your eforms account and pin. Once certified, it takes a day or a year to get approved. Once the form 4 is approved, you pick it up at your dealer and do a 4473. A form 4 doesn’t show up in your account, just your dealers fwiw.

Kiosk is nice but a local dealer than can do EFT prints on site and submit them electronically is going to be better and faster.

Sounds like you already went through the process, hoping you get a fast approval!

Diligent Defense cans are always a great choice for hunters, we just got a bunch in and can ship to your local dealer on a Form 3.

Rok5 gets you 5% off and they ship free.

I ordered the A-10 for my tikka .243 win with a ss trust. Form 4 was submitted to the ATF the 19th of last month. Still waiting for approval. EDIT: I just checked my e-mail. I got approved late yesterday apparently.

Congrats! The A10 is a great can.

Zeroed the rifle with the can on yesterday, I can now spot impacts from 300 yards on out to 1000 yards. Rifle still groups well. Impact shift was 1.5” low/left with suppressor.

I have the OCL Polonium and Silenerco Omega. If forced to choose one, it would be the Omega due to versatility and ability to use on larger cartridges. It still suppresses the 6mm cartridges just fine. However, I prefer the Polonium on various 6mm and .224 cal bolt guns. It uses Silencerco mounts, which is a nice bonus for me to swap between setups.

Week 1 in the books - nothing yet.

So I go to the ATF site and there’s nothing there under any of the side tabs.
My SS page says everything is complete, does that mean they have or have forwarded my paperwork work to the ATF?
