6CM barrel length recommendations

This is Rokslide, all people think about is where their bullet hits 1800fps and think they are good to go.

Guys really ought to look at the wind number as much as terminal range. When 1mph of wind is moving your bullet more than a tenth you really should think about what your doing shooting that far
Facts! Which is why really short barrels make a lot of sense… unless you are forced to use “non toxic” projectiles then the longer barrels make more sense

I am in the process of having a 6CM built with intentions of putting it in a Rokstock lite. I don't reload so would be shooting factory ammo or purchasing through UM to get the 116TMK. is there any advantage of choosing an 18" barrel over a 16"? I will have a dedicated suppressor and considering the OG6s vs using my current TBAC Dominus. (also open to suggestions/recommendations on the suppressor choice)

My current comfortable range for hunting is inside 400 yards but if I can improve my skill set my goal would be to have effective terminal ballistics to 600 yards eventually.

Any input would be appreciated. Thank you in advance
I use a 26” 7.5 twist barrel for heavy bullets. I’m old school and want to maximize velocity.

How many of you are actually hunting at 800 yards?
I did the same mental masturbation a few years ago and was building out spreadsheets of cartridges, barrel length, etc to get out past 700 at 1,800. Then I started actually shooting and realized how ****ing far 700+ yards is, how hard hitting 2MOA without a bench at 500yds is, and now I'm cutting all my barrels and loading my ammo down a grain, etc.

Now I build for 1,800fps at 600yds, train for real shooting situations out to 550yds and self-impose a max of 300yds until I can nail every gong between 300-550, every shot, without a bench or bring prone. Maybe one day I'll get good enough to utilize that 600....but damn thats way out there when it comes to animals instead of steel (in bulky layers, cold hands and targets that don't stand still for >2 minutes).
