Looking to put a wall tent on private land for 6 - 8 months to be used for family camping.
Thinking 16x20?
Need it to hold a couple beds and chairs.
Would you build a wood floor for it?
What brands/tents would you suggest?

Just get this and call it good?

Thanks

If you get that, you will want to cover it with a vinyl fly to protect from UV damage. @Back Country Hunter 2 is the Davis Tent employee on here.

Wood deck is a great floor.

Definitely build a wood platform and get a UV resistant rainfly. Depending on the amount of shade the tent gets, you could look at our SunPro series. Link below

Then I would certainly build a platform, a good one that could then be reused if you decide you want a cabin, storage shed, deck, etc.

Build it bigger than the tent and you’d have a nice deck when you don’t want to be inside the tent.

When I was a kid we had one we put up July-Nov. They were Mil surp and lasted 3-4 years. We put in a wood floor - 2x4's on edge with CDX plywood glued and screwed- my dad was a building contractor.
The tent was next to a creek. We put 30' of 2" PVC up stream, and had the outlet just off the front flap of the tent and wired to a tree 2" off the ground. "Running water"!

I would double my budget and have a Tuff shed built or a similar brand delivered. Much nicer set up with minimal maintenance. Then bring smaller tents that set up easily for overflow.

By the time you mess with a tarp and floor you are 25% away from the cost of a shed
