And that has exactly nothing to do with the OP's question. Nothing.
Yeah, he’s a scammer just posting enough content to get clearance to get in the classified ads to try to scam people. He claimed to have the exact rifle I’m looking for and then I found pictures of that same rifle at the same angles on a different website from last year he photoshopped a different background onto

No the scammer’s username is orangeblu. The one who responded to your post. Stupid username should’ve been my first clue

Same f'er responded to my wtb add, sniffed out the shady vibes quickly. He's good at photoshop I will say! Even added a piece of paper with my username and date, at my request to validate. His too kind, politically correct speech, and refusal to take call and only text with usps money order payment was a huge red flag.

What a piece of trash. Wish I could Thanos snap scammers off the face of the earth. His account isn’t showing up for me now though so I think he got banned

Piece of shit low life for sure. Scammers are just scum. I've been scammed, it's humiliating. I'm very suspicious now.

I’m struggling with this same question right now for a youth build. I have 6.5G everything already in AR 20” to 12.5”. It shoots great.

My numbers show energy out the barrel between the two nearly equal and a 123g projectile holds the energy better than the 103g. Drop is a bit less with 6 ARC but not a ton inside 300yds. If recoil is similar, I’d assume hit the target with a bit more energy downrange. That plus 6.5 bullet selection IMO is still better.

120-129 6.5 land is pretty good these days.

1st is 6 ARC 18” 105g @2800fps
2nd is 6.5G 18” 123g @2650fps

To make it worse, I even said I was wanting to buy the rifle for my dad for a Christmas present because it’s his dream gun. Then you get a worthless pos like that taking it as an opportunity to try to scam $2k. Pretty discouraging

There is so little difference, performance wise, it just doesn't matter if you pick bullets for your situation.

The mental mastrubation is induced by hanging around gun nuts. Energy isn't as important (pointless even) as picking bullets designed to perform at the velocity they're used at.

Using what you have, and have confidence in will be fine. Lots of game being taken with 77gr TMKs out of a .223 Remington. That's a whole other topic here. But we'll documented.

Genuinely curious, but can you squeeze 2650 out of an 18" (assuming bolt gun) 6.5G w/ a 123? I'm above 2800 in a 16" 6 ARC bolt gun with 103s, so 2900 out of an 18" might be possible.

I get 2500 fps from my hand loaded 123grs in my 16" gas gun. 2650fps does seem optimistic from an 18" but not impossible.

Unlikely.

The best I’ve been able to get out of a 123ELDM is 2565 in a Howa mini 20” with a full case of CFE223.

I could easily over the old chrono but don’t trust it as much as my garmin. This is a 20” gas gun. I “assume” a bolt gun will easily match a gas gun and shed 50fps down to 18”. I got same velocities with 123g sst as with the 120s over the old chrono.

Edit: I do load out to mag/lands length and the case is full. I’m confident due to mag limitations I’d be able to load a tad longer in a bolt.
