let's try this again....https://www.facebook.com/groups/319877855995800....

you'll have to copy and paste the link, for some reason every time i try to hyperlink it, it just give some rubbins "use facebook" message.

Spent some time working up loads over Christmas and seemed to find some different things from others so thought I’d add my data. Unfortunately I don’t have a chrono but will update this when I have velocities, more worried about group size.
Browning x bolt pro
24in barrel
Winchester brass
Average .8in 3 shot groups for 165 ABLR over 63.8gr of Retumbo. I found my lands with a COAL of 2.900 and best groups with a COAL of 2.850 (.050 off the lands). Groups were worse closer to the lands and 1 inch at .100 off.

Found 1 inch or less 3 shot groups with 155 LRX over 63.0gr of retumbo. Found the lands at a COAL of 2.915 and got the best groups with a COAL of 2.815 (.100 off lands). I tried several loads closer to the lands and other power charges and never found good results until this load.

Seemed like most people were seating their bullets much longer! I was jamming my bullets into the lands on my rifle with seating lengths that others were posting so maybe the throat is shorter on this browning? Who knows but if you’re having trouble with either of the bullets, maybe more jump is the answer! Will update velocities and SD’s once I have them.

Watched a video from “reloading weatherby” on YouTube and he was getting some crazy velocities with n570 and Berger 170’s with a 26 inch tube. Not a hole lot of info on hand load velocities out there
I know this is like a year old reply. I have the 6.8 Western in RW's videos. The N570 load where I was getting near 3200 fps was 70 grains. I switched powders and went to N568 (66 grains) and am going 2960 fps and it hammers. I do have a video coming out with the adg brass and that load.

What did the terminal damage look like in the elk you took with the 170gr Elite Hunter?
