I've been really interested in this cartridge but I have a couple questions about it. First of all I want to know what the barrel life is. I would be using it for hunting, so I wouldn't be putting a whole lot of rounds through it. Also I was wondering what kind of action I could build on that would withstand the pressure. Will a Remington 700 originally chambered in 300 ultra mag work?

A 700 receiver is way stronger than any brass cartridge case will stand pressure wise.

I think so. I'm probably over thinking things with the action.
