Contemplating chopping my 6.5 Superlite barrel. It's currently a hammer with 130 TMKs, but I'm not a big fan of the 24" barrel in the whitetail woods. I have a T3 compact 308 with the 20" barrel that is a joy to carry/hunt with, so I'm thinking about chopping the 6.5 right in front of the flutes at 21"-ish. My Range limit is 500 yards so I'll never shoot game past that, and doing some quick number crunching even with the 21" barrel the TMKs should still be lethal to almost 700 yards depending on elevation.
Should I go ahead and chop it, or leave it with it shooting as good as it does?
