Im going to rebarrel my 257 this winter with a 7.5 twist, case capacity is right there with a 7RM so it should be pretty awesome!! Id be super interested if anyone else has done it as well

What does everybody think of the WBY cartidges?

240 WBY or 257 WBY. They seem to be hot on the heels of everything above but available in factory offerings. The 257 looks to be in 1:10 twist which is an issue but they are chambering the 240 WBY in 1:7.5.

I’ve killed a lot of game with the old 240 and 100 gr partitions
Once I got into rebarrelling rifles I had oacnor spin me up a 1:7 to shoot Berger 105s and that combo was perfect light recoil, great wind hold etc.
But- there’s better mouse traps namely cartridges without radiused shoulders and belts.
The 240 wby and 6-06 are identical so if you want a long action 6mm I’d go 6-06 or 6-06ai
Medium action 6-284 or 6-prc.
