ADG seems to be very good at sticking to and publicizing their schedule. Some dealers will even let you pre-order. IMO it's pretty easy to get if you plan ahead a bit, and be ready to jump on it once it hits the shelves. I was able to get my hands on plenty of 7 saum brass to last the barrel before my gun build was even complete.

Getting the itch to put together a rifle, want a niche, cool chambering/caliber. I reload so no worries with needing factory ammo.

Big fan of the shoot 2 hunt podcast so as a result I’ve added the 6UM to the consideration.

Which do you think will have better brass support? 6.5SAUM is a bit of a struggle to get brass, I’d likely have to neck down 7 SAUM.

My concern for 6UM is if heaven forbid, UM disappears or stops selling brass down the road, where would the brass come from? ADG directly?

If you want a fast accurate 6mm just get a 6 creed

Not sure yet, will plan to run either 134 eld m or 135 berger, would prefer the eld m's, but not easy to find right now.
I'd suggest a 170-190 freebore. I just had a 25prc cut with 180fb and all the heavy Berger, Blackjack and the ELDM sit nicely a ways above the neck shoulder junction. Giving you room to jump a ways before getting below the neck.

I’ll be following and see what kind of velocity you’ll be getting out of your 25 SAUM. I have a 25 SST and I like it but mine it’s way slower than the SAUM.
Now I’m gonna focus on that 6 SAUM, have a pile of Berger 108s , hopefully it’ll like them.

Are you planning to reload or buy factory ammunition? Either way a 6.5 prc to start and later rebarrel is probably the better choice especially for a tikka, since you were originally considering the 6.5 SAUM the 6.5prc is a good choice, the availability of factory ammo is very nice from hornady.

Hey any updates from anyone above? I’m looking to build. 6mm or 25 magnum this winter. Hoping to learn from the successes and regrets of others.

Handful of 6 PRC stuff out there on the forum. 6 PRC, 25 PRC, or 25 SAUM are all intriguing wildcats.

I’ve built both this past year, a 2(5PRC and a 6 SAUM, great rifles. My 25 PRC was shooting 133 Bergers at 3200 with great accuracy over H1000, 24 inch barrel.
My 6 SAUM with 108s and N570 was right at 3190 from a 20 inch barrel. Loved them both, and sold them both 😂. Depending on your intended use you can’t go wrong with either. Enjoy the process.

Was at my gunsmiths yesterday dropping some stuff off and Shawn told me maybe as early as late next week he'd have the 25 SAUM he's building me done so I may have some info to share then.

I'm using a Bartlein barrel cut to 22in and 134 ELD-M. Don't know what powder will perform best but the intentions are to use N570, N565, RL26 or maybe RL33 only time will tell which of those it likes best.

In a short action 25-6.5PRC, 25 SAUM or 25 WSM with the 130's. If I was building on a Tikka or long action a 25-7PRC would make for a real nice hot rod 25 cal. with a little more velocity over those other three.

I'm hoping for a solid 3100 with the 134's in my 25 SAUM and 22 in tube. Anything over that will be icing :)

Was the parent case for your 25 PRC off the 6.5 or 7 PRC? If it was a 25-6.5PRC 3200 is impressive and makes me optimistic for my 25 SAUM build.

Mine was a 6.5 PRC necked down. Needless to say proceed with caution, safe load on my rifle.

So in my opinion, I'd go Saum parent in the 65 and 25, you can get away with prc in the 6mm. My goal is 3000-3150 fps with high bc expanding bullets, NOT using crack powders like N570 and RL26. The extra velocity you get with crack powders is just a lil icing on the cake. In my 22in brux 25prc, 3100 is very near psi with H1000 using 134 eldm. In my 19in 6prc H1000 shoots will with 112s at 3150, dtacs were near psi at 3100, couldn't get enough N570 for psi at 3130(61.5gr), 57.8 gr rl26 is 3200 with a dtac, but it's not far off psi either, shadow ejector marks flat primers. I also have a 24in 6saum, long ass freebore, and it's fast, like 3400 with a dtac and N570. But I feel that's unnecessary velocity.

I think if you go equal barrel lengths on all, say 20" the 65 Saum, 25 Saum and 6prc will all operate in that 3100fps realm with temp stable cool burning powders.

What does everybody think of the WBY cartidges?

240 WBY or 257 WBY. They seem to be hot on the heels of everything above but available in factory offerings. The 257 looks to be in 1:10 twist which is an issue but they are chambering the 240 WBY in 1:7.5.
