6.5 PRC/SAUM shortest barrel length

Uh oh, idk what you just said. You talking about pressures?
Negative, you asked about seating depth, I gave relevant info. If your knowledge of cartridge composition or cartridge/bullet and chamber fitment is little to none, get a 65prc and shoot factory ammo.

Edit, not trying to be a dick here, but I felt like you're trolling with the response. But yes, if you don't know how to reload, get a prc.

With all due respect reading comprehension will take you a long way in your reloading journey.
Ha. Understood. It was a joke tho. I have 3 technical degrees. It’s just that sometimes I get bit by the raging dipshit bug. Which again, will take me a long way in the wrong direction reloading

I don’t know enough right now. I do have a good mentor for this and not knowing won’t stop me. I’m not a hillbilly that’ll just bubba my way into a load tho. I’ve got a PRC. I’m building a SAUM. I’ll get there slowly

And I’m not an internet troll. I legitimately was confused AF but put two and two together when someone else clarified.

So you started with SAUM brass and fire formed to improved? If you went thru the trouble of running improved why not go improved +P?
I’m not sold on the concept of +P throating. I think the gains are minimal until you get to burning a lot of powder and heavy bullets. Plus (this is speculative on my part) barrel life is compromised especially if running it hot.

I gained 120fps on my 6.5 creed going +p 🤷🏻‍♂️

I suppose it could happen but based on what I’ve read, gains are typically minimal, especially on milder cartridges.
What I’ve heard is if you’re at pressure, and you have case capacity still you’ll see gains. Now how much well that’s the wildcard.

Just finished my 18" 6.5 prc and took it out to distance. 18" 7.5 twist 6 groove carbon 6 barrel. It's for a tikka, and it's tq'd well past aftermarket spec. Went 140ftlbs so I'm sure the chamber dimensions varied after TQ from the usual 75-80ftlbs everyone else does with rebarrels. It shot 2 different lots of hornady 147 factory ammo at 2800 and it shot another company's ammo with 142gr bullet at 2775. (Rated 2820 from a 22") overall very impressed and I wouldn't hesitate to go 18" again.
