I use H1000 pushing a 147eldm at 2965fps and groups 1/2" at 100 yards. It was the only powder that I was able to get my hands on and since it shot well with good velocity I haven't tried any others.

I’m buying a Bergara HMR in 6.5 PRC and have plenty of H1000 and 147 ELD-Ms. Would you hunt with the ELD-Ms on thin skinned game like deer at that velocity? The 147 worked great on deer at 2650 in my Creedmoor.

I think it would do fine, probably more meat loss though but why not just keep using the creedmoor?
Currently I use a 6.5 Grendel for Whitetail, I used my 6.5 Creedmoor on a bull elk a couple years ago and it did fine, shot at 90 yards and the eldx exploded at that velocity, the elk didn't take a step, I would expect more damage if the bullet was at a higher velocity like a prc. Went to the 6.5 prc to extend my range, have a Tikka with a proof research 24" carbon barrel and can hold 10" groups at 1000 yards (hope to improve on that with more practice though).

I’m buying the 6.5 PRC primarily to hit steel at my gun club at 1K and 1250 with less wind drift. That’s why I’m buying the Bergara HMR, it’s a more stable bench platform but will be great deer hunting out of box blinds. I’m not a western hunter hiking the mountains. I walk 700 yards across a flat field to get to my spot lol.

H1000 with 153.5 bergers getting 2860. Proof carbon 20" barrel. Started seeing pressure signs at about 2900. Was getting 2850 with N565 in a xbolt factory rifle.

I gave N565 a try and worked up to 55.5 grains with a 143 eldx at 2.95 OAL. Shoots easy sub 1" in my Mesa, but only 2835 fps. I stopped there due to sticky bolt lift at 56 grains.

What brass? In lapua, adg and peterson 58.0 gr n565 shows no pressure signs, those loads are compressed as well. I'm not sure I could stuff enough in there to hit pressure

Well I scored an 8lb jug of H1000 from LGS today so hopefully I get a good load with the 6.5 PRC. If not I’ve got an excellent load for my 7mm STW lol.

Cannot recommend Reloader 23 for 124 Hammer Hunter bullets.

All shoot well under MOA, 58.7 gave me a .236 MOA.
