Looking for some input on 6.5 PRC load data. I have limited bullets/powder before my Colorado mule deer hunt (Oct. 24th), so going to stick with what I have to work with:
Powder
H4831SC
RL19
RL22
H1000
Retumbo
IMR7828
H4350

Bullets
Hornady 143 gr ELDX
Nosler 140 gr Balistic Tip

Gun wears a 24" 1 in 8 twist Christensen Arms carbon wrapped barrel on 700 long action and is shooting Hornady 143 gr ELDX factory ammo .6" for 3 shot 100 yd groups. Could only find one box, so leaning towards loading Hornady 143 gr ELDX (have a box of 100 and new Hornady brass). Thinking I can seat this bullet out with the long action and improve my velocity and accuracy with the right load. Thanks in advance for any data/advise.

I saw yesterday what the 143 grain eldx does to a mule deer at long range. Devastating performance at over 600 yards... Hornady made a winner with that one. No load data to offer- sorry.

I was in the exactly the same situation with a hunting trip coming up & trying to get loads worked up. I did not have time to work up a load that even matched factory loads’ velocity & accuracy. I ended up just using factory Hornady ammo & only needed three shots - one to verify my scope & one for each of the animals harvested. In hindsight, I don’t know why I was so stressed about having “only 20” rounds.

It didn't like H4831SC at all and didn't have enough H1000 to load many rounds after all. So I tried a IMR 7828 load from Hornady's site and it liked it, .4" 3 shot groups at 100. Chrony crapped out on my because of setting sun so will play some more with this bullet/powder combo, get some speeds and load some up for a big CO mullie! Thanks again.

I'm using RL26 with 140 NPT. It's a mild load of 56 grains and accuracy is good. Just bought some 156 bergers and plain to use H4831SC or Rl26.

What is your velocity and what is the max(book) load for your 140 load?

I'd sure give the 140 gr. Accubond a try. It's similar but better than the Ballistic Tip in my estimation by a long shot. Yes pun intended!

Has anyone seen Retumbo in the past six months? I would love to work up some loads but only have < 1 lb.

I have a couple pounds of RL 26 and some 143 ELdx I’m anxious to try. Still waiting on a proof barrel and Manners Stock

I bought a X Bolt hells Canyon long range and have shot the 147eldm with real good results, Have done some reload ladder tests with 143 ELdx and 150 noslers both with IMR 4831 each shot best around 51.1-51.4
