6.5 PRC go to powder

Hey guys I read most of the threads on here and long range only about powder selection for the 6.5 PRC. But I’m looking for validation:
I re-barreled my 7 rem mag tikka to a 6.5 PRC and chopped the barrel to 20”(the barrel is a factory take off I bought from another rokslider). I bought the 147 eldm to work up a load. Currently I have in stock H4831 and H1000. I was originally going use H1000. But have read a few threads that some guys haven’t liked it for the 6.5 PRC. I would like to work up a load with one of these two powders, before I go buy N565.
What’s your experiences?
What kind of muzzle velocity should I expect?

Thanks! Those are the velocities im hoping for but with a 20" barrel that gives me a good idea what to expect.

Not a PRC, but my 18" 6.5 SAUM was at 2765 with Retumbo and 2875 with N560....the Viht powders have impressed me.

My preference of powder for 6.5 PRC in order is:
1. n565
2. H4831sc
3. H1000

H1000 and Retumbo for my PRC’s. I imagine you’ll start and finish with H1000

I have a Tikka T3 lite I chopped to 20.5”. I was getting 2890fps with 58.5gr of H1000 (SD 16/ ES 45) with a 143 ELDX. Groups were about 1moa. With 57.5gr of N565 I’m getting about 2780fps (SD 5.9 / ES 15.7) and 1/2moa groups. I wasn’t thrilled about the velocity with the N565, but it is way more accurate for my rifle.

You should be around 2750fps with 57gr H1000 and 147eldm.

N565 will work but will be at best same same but different.

I'm having good success with Ramshot Magnum in mine.

I was really disappointed in the speed of n565. I’m gonna have to find something else to use it in.
