6.5-06 brass

I just picked up a few actions and barrels from a buddy of mine, and am about to start putting them together. One of the barrels is a 6.5-06 A Square. Another is the AI version of the same cartridge. I am looking for some 6.5-06 headstamped brass. I know I can form them from 270 and 25-06. I will if necessary. I would prefer to have the proper headstamp brass to avoid any confusion since I have the other 2 calibers on hand too. Are there any brass manufacturers I should be looking at? I haven't been able to locate anything in stock at the normal places.

Quality cartridge makes it, but only does limited runs once enough demand is there. You could be waiting for a long time.

I’d just form it and avoid the long unnecessary wait. Use 280 Rem brass so you don’t confuse it with your 270 or 25-06.

I guess I could do it from 280 brass. I have a pile of it, and shoot Ackley headstamp brass in my 280AI

Just wait a couple of years, you won’t be able to read the headstamps anyhow
