5000 fps club. Any of the brethren out there?

A good friend of mine had a 220 swift ackley improved with 40gr pills . Pretty sure that was atleast 4500. Thing was crazy violent on pigs and foxes

Call ATK and get some solid rockets to strap to the side, that seems to help.

It seems like the best method may be to increase the speed that the rifle is moving when it fires the bullet. At a measly mach 1.8 my .270 can reach 5,000 fps however amongst other issues getting the bullet to pass over the chrono has been a bit of a challenge.

But seriously, keep us posted. I didn't realize that was a thing but damn are those bullets moving!

Grinding down the 67 grain hammers. Will post the results.
And yes I'm going for mass extinction. I'm hoping if I shoot an armadillo in the face from 8 yards with a 5000fps round that the quantum shift will reach back in time and kill every armadillo that has ever lived. The only proof that they ever existed will be a strange smell and a slightly gamey taste on the breeze as it blows to me.

35-40 grain moly bullets were screaming out of a 22-284. We never had a chronograph at the time. But it “walloped” the shit out of coyotes.
