45-70 Powders

Midway had some blems a while back, ordered a box or two and they got lost in usps. Have had that happen twice now. Low stock on a bullet, then it gets “shipped” but usps never gets it.

I used to work as an inventory auditor for a large retailer. Whenever I see low stocks I assume it’s a coin flip whether there’s actually any on hand or not. With these high volume mail order outfits I bet their inventory is a circus :D

I’ve used IMR4198 for trapdoor level all the way to ridiculous-don’t want to pull the trigger again loads. I’ve used Speer unicore 300gr, sierra 300gr and 425gr WFNGC.

Same. H4198 and IMR4198 are not interchangeable but I shoot whichever one I have on hand, when I want to get beat up by a rifle.

I have a NOE mold that makes a ~350 grain flat point or hollowpoint .460" bullet and I powder coat them and load them over enough IMR4198 to make about 1900' from the 22" barrel. I have shot hotter loads - but, no thanks.
