Happy to say in two days (Tuesday 9/12 at 8:30am) I will finally be airborne headed to AK for my first AK Hunt bringing years of planning to realization. In 3 days (9/13) I, and my hunting partner from SC, will be in the bush beginning a 12 day DIY traditional bow hunt for Moose and Caribou. On 9/14 we will be able to begin hunting. I'm brining my GoPro and Nikon camera to capture as much of this adventure as I can. The majority of my gear is waiting for me in a small village in AK. The 10 day weather forecast for the village nearest our hunt location is showing chance of rain every day. Glad I have good rain gear and a quiver to keep my arrows dry. I will be hunting with a Huron Longbow a great friend Terry Folts made for me for this hunt and wood arrows another great friend Chad Graham made for this hunt. I am feeling very grateful and blessed. Looking forward to reading post hunt updates. I'll be back in Michigan on 9/28 and will post an update as soon as I can.
Good luck to you and your buddy Huntfun! I can't imagine your excitement at this point. A year from today will be my first adventure into Gods country in the great state of Alaska. Looking forward to hearing about your hunt!
