40 mile herd

I was up on the steese opening day and got a nice meat caribou. Was hoping to go back this weekend but have gotten mixed spotting reports. Some say try chicken others say the steese is the place to be.
Anyone else have any luck recently?

They are moving SE but exactly where I haven't heard.

I know the hotline says they are moving towards zone two. It’s my first year hunting the 40 mile herd. I understand how unpredictable they are. Just trying to see if anyone has come back recently. Just looking for a spot report. Thank you

Friend was up there yesterday (Steese) did not see many, got one small bull. Vern is correct in that they are moving SE, maybe try coming in from CHSR, that may work better.

No i used my 338, I bow hunt on haul road. Less people more fun

Took a small bull on opening day, and a decent Cow on the second! Nothing special but good meat Bou's!
