260g accubond.

260g partition is awesome as well if you can find them, I haven't looked in a few years but they were very scarce back when I was looking. I ended up getting 500 of them from some guy who was getting out of the 375.

The 300 gr Partition has a long history of working well. Hopefully, if nothing more than a sign civilization is moving forward, one of the more modern bullets is an improvement on the 70 year old design. Copper penetrates deeper and Accubonds expand more while keeping more retained weight, but I don’t know that the evidence is overwhelming that either are the obvious choice. Based on that if I were to move back to AK and start carrying the H&H again while salmon fishing and hiking the Partition would be an easy choice.

Barnes TSX's...I've taken several grizzlies with a 270grn TSX out of my 375H&H, and my son took his first grizzly with a 210gr TSX out of his 338-06. All were taken with heart/lung shots and all were well within a hundred-yards. Wish I had a recovered bullet to show you, but they always entered, expanded and exited the other side...just like they're supposed to perform. All died within 20-30 yards of being shot.

Edit: BTW, I handload all my centerfire ammo.

If you are looking for commercial, the only ones around (at least that I have found the past couple of years) are Hornady. I'd go with either the 250 gr CX or 270 gr Spire Point; don't need solids on them.

Handloads give you more options.

I smoked a griz with the Hornady 270 SP and the bullet separated from the jacket only leaving 40 grains intact. The Griz run about 75 yards before it expired

when i had my 375 ruger i used hornady 270 gr for black and grizzly bear but it was not the alaskan version just the yukon ones lol ... i handloaded as well 270gr tsx but i sold that rifle before using it.

true that the hornady sp 270 gr is not a really strong bullet but if your shot animals are dead that is already a good start.

now im waiting for my tikka 9.3x62 from the gunsmith that i will use with 250 gr tsx and i know that combo worked as well in the past.

A lot of guys like the 270 gr barnes bullet if you’re into copper bullets. I used the 260 gr partition on a brown bear at 50 yards in thick brush and it performed well. I recovered two of the bullets and they were mushroomed to perfection. He took one frontal, one in the hip, and a final round behind the shoulder. Their will to live is incredible.

Plenty of good bullets to consider.
Barnes TSX, Nosler Accubonds and Partitions, North Forks, Woodleighs. I would not feel handicapped to use any of these.
I would not use a Hornady, Speer, or Sierra with so many other better choices available. These three would most likely work but why use a bullet when better choices are easily found.

Full disclosure, I only killed one grizzly and it was killed with a 300 grain Partition.

Last year I shot a black bear and a grizz with the 300gr factory DGX stuff because it was all I can find. It got the job done, but isn't the best choice for use on bears in my opinion. I loaded up some 270gr stone hammers at 2,700fps and hope to thump a grizz in the next week or two with it. The Barnes LRX or TSX would be a great choice as well.
