For those of you who have converted over to a internal frame or have both an 24” duplex lite internal frame(specifically the 357 mag, which Kifaru lists as being 24” stays), how does the height of the frame/bag compare to that of the 24” lite frame?
Here is my issue: the girlfriend has went on one trip west with me. She carried a North Face pack that she had. I explained to her that the comfort with a heavy load would be different with a hunting pack as opposed to what she had. So I changed my duplex light around to fit her and as soon as she put in on with a 50lb sand bag (it was all I had at the time) she said she had never had that much weight in the NF and knew right away the Kifaru was more comfortable. I had the load lifters on the lowest loop of the bag sleeve (so 22”) and I know the overall length of the frame is too tall her as she is 5’6” so it sticks up pretty high. So back to the original question, are the internal frame 357 mag and 24” lite frame the same height? If the 357 is a bit shorter, I’d probably go that route as I have an extra belt and shoulder straps so I could make it work for me….or is the better choice to go with 22” tactical frame and just put on a 44 mag or gen 1 22 mag (both of which I already have)? I know option 2 is a bit cheaper but I think she likes the layout of the 44 mag, but I think it would be rather large on that shorter frame.
I saw some feedback in this thread can't find anything with a side by side comparison. https://www.rokslide.com/forums/threads/kifaru-357-mag-feedback.196983/
