340 Weatherby and H1000

Bought a 340 Weatherby to play with and would like to load 250gr accubonds in it and use H1000. Anyone have any load data for that powder? I can't seem to find much info anywhere.

It’s a little slow for that cartridge. Reloder 16-26, N560, 7828, Magnum, Hunter, 760, and 4831 all have better velocity and % of propellant burnt.

Congrats on the new rifle - 340 is probably my favorite cartridge.
I never thought about why h1000 isn’t listed, just assumed it was a little slow for the 340 and the case fill wouldn’t allow enough of in there. 7828 isn’t much faster than H1000 and it’s compressed quite a bit.

H4831 I am assuming you are talking about? What about H4350? Hard to find certain powder around here yet. I’d love to get to 2900fps. And yes thanks! I have always wanted one, guess the allure of a big magnum. Got couple trips for elk lined up in the next couple years but other than that maybe I will try to poke a few deer with it.

My favorite cartridge. I never ran H1000 in the 340 Bee. 7828ssc, Norma MRP and RL22 were all good. 85gr MRP was my favorite with 250gr SGKs pushing 3000fps into 1/2 inch, then 86.5gr 7828ssc right there too. Killed elk far away with both loads.

"Poke a few deer with it" is a rather subtle way to put it with a 340 Bee. Iffen you shoot anywhere near one, it'll die, LOL!

I had great results with either RL19 or RL22 - never had to try H4350, but no reason it wouldn’t be in the normal range. I could never get 2,900 fps with the RL powders, but some rifles have.

Haha yes a little over kill, but might as well let the rifle get a bit of seat time instead of collect dust in the safe! And alright I’ll start out with H4350 since I already have that, and keep my eye out for 7828. Thanks everyone
