338 Bullet Choice Help

My mate who i brought it off used it when guiding on red deer from 50 to 600y shot 50 or so

I shot 3 nanny tahr with it from ranged of 600 - 900y will double cheek its the otm tonight, its a big bullet it makes a big hole looked like a rock melon had gone through them

Thanks. I wondered if it was just on reds or on smaller game too. If it worked on something small like a nanny tahr out to 900 yards, thats pretty good terminal performance.
 
I've shot a lot of elk from 25 yards out to 1000 with my 338-378Wby with a 250gr Parker Long Range ULD's. They used to be called Rocky Mountain ULD's. I've only ever had 1 elk take a step after being shot and that was my fault for rushing and pulling a shot. They make bullets in 250, 275, 300gr.
 
I have had very good results with 300gr elite hunters- impact velocity ranging from (roughly) 2600-1900, on elk deer and antelope.

I’ve killed a few elk with 270gr eldx all were around 2100fps impact velocity
They have worked well.
