32" Waist, 17" Torso, Looking for recommendations on a short guy pack (frame)

Good Evening, New to Rokslide, also looking for a newbie thread. I am looking for recommendations on a pack. Short Torso and a 32" waist. I want to buy a used one, MR, SG, or Kifaru. I have found a few on the classifieds but unfortunately I have to work through private messages which isnt very fun. To keep it short, I am a short guy with a sensitive shoulder and not so much of a beast if you know what I mean. I am willing to spend the money on a good used pack but wanted to know size recommendations on the big three. The belt is pretty straight forward, but the frame not so much. Also, alot of the lower cost packs have torso adjustments. Anything like that on the 3 listed. Just watched a video on the MR Yoke difference.

Would strongly suggest you call Kifaru and ask for Anders. I have the same issues. My torso is 16.5-17 depending on who is measuring. Waist is 34. After taking all my measurements over the phone, and discussing hunting goals/style, Anders suggested the 24 in frame. My personal selection is the Duplex Lite with composite stays in a normal back configuration.

The frame arrived as if it had been a customized version made only for me. That’s because of the modularity of the frame options that are available to fit just about everyone.

IMO, Kifaru best understands the anatomical measurement game better than the other top tier pack manufacturers based on their years of experience, number of contributors, and openness to informed customer feedback.

I am definitely going to call now that Christmas travel is over. Just feel a little bad about saying "Hey, I am buying a used pack, can you tell me if it will fit?" Maybe they can sell me some accessories if I can find a good used one. two reasons while I am not buying new. Limited time as I wasnt sure of the hunt until recently and value that I can get from a used one if found. What I dont want to do is buy a used one that does not fit. Or a new one for that matter. Thank You for the name, I hope to call them tomorrow.

For what it’s worth, my suggestion would be to consider buying a new frame and looking for a used bag on here. After your boots, your pack is your second most important piece of kit. All else being equal those two items are responsible for 75 to 80% of your comfort.

I am definitely considering buying a new frame. I have viewed the xcurve like 500 times in the last 24 hours. I also need to call to see how fast they can ship one due to time limitations. I am giving myself until Friday to find a used one. If not, then I may have to buy a new one that is in stock.

Here’s my .02 on the stone glacier. All frames are 26” might be more than you need in heigth. I’m a 33 waist and run their medium belt. I could run a small but didn’t want to be on the edge of fitting. I’m also skinny so the shoulder straps are just about too long when pulling them tight. If I adjusted them down (where they Velcro to the frame) my load lifter angle gets way off. For reference I’m a 18.5 torso 39 chest. In short I’m almost too small for their suspension. Also I started with the xcurve and now use the krux evo frame. Xcurve was a better fit for my back profile but the flat evo frame wraps my shoulders better. I can get a happy medium with the movable lumbar pad.

I would imagine the holidays will slow every company’s shipping and the carrier. Otherwise I’ve made many orders from sg and all shipped within two business days and another 2-3 for the mail to deliver. Pretty sure they only ship priority or I’m impatient and pay extra for it.

SG will ship faster than kifaru. I love my xcurve. But I'm a bigger guy.
Seekoutside also ships quicker than kifaru. They have a 24" frame that can be adjusted up to 28" you are probably better off buying new. Waiting on a used frame to pop up you like will likely take longer to find.
