Getting some major poi shift with my muzzle break. I'm having a hard time even seeing it on paper from 25 yards away. Take the brake off, it's fine. The shift could be around 1.5 ft, maybe significantly more. I measured the bore diameter of the brake with the calipers and its max .005 over .308. That seems really tight? I've some online mention it should be more like .030 clearance. Any info appreciated! I can't see any indications of bullet strikes.

That does seem very tight! Just measured one of mine and it is .030" clearance as you mentioned.

That seems tight - what brake are you using?
It's a brake made by Oregunsmithing specifically for the Howa Superlite. The owner was recommended by Howa and seems to have a great reputation. I definitely don't want to speak anything negative about him, as things happen and I'm not even 100% sure there's a defect. But, I'm just getting this shift from the brake and looking for potential reasons. I'm sure lots of other people have had great experiences with these exact brakes.

I am guessing it is missing the ream step. Probably drilled with a .3125" drill and then wasn't reamed to the final size.
