Looking for direction on a suppressor for my Savage High Country 300wm. I'm not too concerned about added weight or length, without getting too crazy from a hunting gun point of view. I like reaching out past 500yrds if conditions are right. I "think" I would prefer a screw over a brake option, but not limited to only that type of thinking. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

I did a lot of researching and reading and settled on a Thunderbeast Ultra. I wanted something very repeatable (when taking the suppressor on and off) and ideally light. The Thunderbeast is both. The only hard part is finding one available and then waiting for the ATF.

I was had looked at the TB but was thinking the ultra wouldn't be worth it due to being shorter (shorter = not as effective). but I have no idea if that thinking is correct..

They make the ultra in 5,7, and 9 inches.

Thunderbeast puts out a list of retailers that received recent shipments. I purchased another Ultra-7 in March of this year. I just had to pick up the phone and call a few retailers on the list. I also signed up for notifications on websites that were sold out, and I regularly received notices of 'back in stock" over the next month or two.

Are you a dealer?

The previous posters have alot more experience than me, but I just received my first suppressor, a SRD762-QD made by Sig. Haven't shot thought it yet, but in handling it and inspecting it, the construction is robust and clean. It is a tubeless design, and screws onto a brake (brake included along with two other adapters). It is rated for 300 win mag and below, and is also "Full auto" rated:

I have this one as well. My favorite (of the 5 I own) bc I can throw on any weapon of my choice with the muzzle adapter.

At work we have just about every brand of cans (which I don’t pay for) and I concur that Thunderbeast is top notch.

I second the TBAC recommendation. I run an Ultra 9 on mine and love it. Prepare to wait 11 months for it. The ATF is great at cashing the check within 48 hours but it takes them 11 months to get the tax stamp back to you. Efficiency at its finest.

Thunderbeast for sure. Just spend the money, you'll be married to it for life, buy one you know will be the cream of the crop.

I have an ultra 5, ultra 7, waiting on an ultra 9, and also have the 22 takedown. All flawless.

I would go ultra 7 or ultra 9 on a 30 cal. I can shoot my ultra 7 with my 300WSM and its great for hunting and taking a shot without ear pro.

But, I see you don't care about weight, or length...how about budget? No budget then I would get a 338 Ultra. I have witnessed that shot on a .300WM, .308, and .260 rem and its silly quiet. Its $1800, but once my Ultra 9 get out of jail I think I will get the 338 ultra to round out the full squad.

Anyone have direct experience comparing the TBAC to the Dead Air Nomad or Nomad L? Seems comparable but maybe a bit heavier. I like the idea of the interchangeable end plates and brake system.

While that is an awesome can, it is extremely bulky for a hunting gun.

I use one on a 28" 300 Norma, its all relative. I don't really notice it's size anymore than my other suppressors. TBAC is the gold standard and I highly recommend them to everyone.

Agreed on them being gold standard. Thanks to some deals I had found a bit over two years ago, I have a couple of them. I use the 338 Ultra at the range but have an Ultra 7 for hunting. The area419 adapters make it easy to use both cans with one muzzle adapter even though they each have their own CB mount if you use TB's brakes.

I personally use TBAC suppressors for everything. I have every length option of their Ultra lineup plus the 22-Takedown. No regrets.
