I modded a insert to take a fiber....but light is important. It's not long and late....you gotta pick one.

That is why I ask. So for 300, or whatever your hunting max is, how late can you actually shoot that far? Is full on sun needed, like 2hrs prior to sunset?

It's about contrast. In snow and open terrain....probably most of legal light. If it's dark timber.....well, contrast just isn't there.
