Longer ranger 300 wsm load specifically for deer. 50 yards to 400. Has anyone ever loaded 130 gr Barnes ttsx in 300 wsm? What kind of results did you have with it? I think it would be an awesome deer bullet at 400 yards and under.

After my Dad bought his 300 wsm he used it for a while hunting whitetails. He usually shot 150gr Ballistic tips in the factory Win black box ammo. I think they were something like 3200 and were pretty destructive. A 150gr around 3200 will be wildly adequate for any deer you'll find.

I really enjoy the 124grain hammer in my 300wsm. Kills elk past 400yds without issue. And the recoil is really tamed.

We've killed a few deer with 130's @3100fps in a 308.
I've probably shot 15 bucks, 2 elk and a few antelope with 150gr TTSX @3300 -3335 fps out of my kimber Montana. Absolutely kills the shit out of stuff for me. Running a Barnes fast, in my experience is like running the next bullet weight up in other bullet styles.

How did the 130s do on deer? I’m trying to decide if I’m going to load them up in my 300wsm or 308.
