I’m fixing to try this as well but I bought 165ttsx should I have got the 168? Still learning this reloading.168 gr TTSX & 63.5 gr H4350
Those will be fine, they’re a slightly different profile made to fit the 300 WM factory mag lengths, so it is a bit shorter profile, and also a harder composition with higher minimum impact velocity.I’m fixing to try this as well but I bought 165ttsx should I have got the 168? I shoot the 208 eld-m out of a custom. I lose a little velocity with it being a 20” barrel but have killed elk out to 700 with great performance. I think any further I would want a little more velocity. How would the 208 A-MAX work in the 300WSM? I still have 200 of them I got for 308 project that never left the ground.

Yeah I feel the 168s will do great for Deer 0-300 yardsDoesn’t really matter, what matter is what your needs are for shooting and fine tune the powder charge for a consistent reloads.
For me, I had a bunch of those 168 gr ttsx bullets and want to used those. Next I want to work up a heavier bullet with better BC.
that’s darn fastI shoot the Barnes TTSX 130 gr. averaging 3,573 fps. in mine.
I agree. I’ve shot them in my 308 for close to 20. Just factory Winchester silver tips. They do excellent. These are great bullets. I have been shooting them for over 20 years. I just wish I could find them.

165 nbt, sst, or either eld will work fineSomewhat of a tangent, but what are yalls thoughts on using 165s for elk? Ive currently got a load with 178gr eld-x and h4350 that is shooting really well but thinking of making up something a little lighter, faster, less recoil, etc. Not sure if it's worth the loss of BC and knock down power though..
