300 WM Scope Recommendation

I just got a Tikka T3X 300 WM.

Now I am shopping for a scope. Would like turrets to adjust the scope for longer shots if necessary.

Started looking at the VX6 and some Nightforce. I've heard better things about Leupold's customer service.

What magnification should I be looking at for western hunts?

I have the same rifle and I put a Zeiss V6 5-30 on it and love it.

Love for Leupold won’t be found on this site. Besides nobody should be shooting a 300wm, way too much gun to shoot accurately.

I’ve had great luck with several Zeiss scopes. That being said, I’m in the process of putting a Nightforce NX8 on a 7PRC build.

Why the lack of love for Leupold? I've heard better things about their customer service than Nightforce.

Depends a bit on the range you want to hunt. 3-12x40 is a pretty solid all around magnification range. SWFA 3-15, Trijicon Credo or Tenmile, or any Nightforce are all good choices.

I like the Nightforce 2.5-10x42 NXS. Not too heavy, good for western hunting and with 300 WM.

Currently have a VX-3 LRP on my .300 win. Looking to swap it to a Mark 5 either 5-25 or 7-35.

In my experience Leupold is statistically more likely to fail. I've owned 4 Leupold scopes and the vx3, vx5 and mark 5 I owned failed in some form. Being in Canada, the customer service was not exactly stellar, although once the Korth group took over warranty claims it did improve. A number of the guys I guided with have switched over to Trijicon and they all talk very highly of them. For Nightforce I've been very happy with my NXS' and NX8s. I did try an ATACR but it was heavier than I wanted.

I have a NX8 4-32 on my 300wm currently. It is a good scope, especially shooting at distance and for load development. The down side, way to much magnification for most hunting, upper range does not transfer light as well as I would like. The 2x-xx night force Nx8 or a NXS 3.5-15 is a better hunting scope for me. I own a few Leupolds , I have not had any issues with them myself. Have a VX3HD 1-5.5 on my 375HH a vx3hd 4-14 on my 308 , plus a bunch of older ones .

I have the NX 8 4x32 on my Seekins 300 win mag and love that scope. I prefer the 4x32 over my nx8 2.5x20x50.

Me personally, I feel I can use the the 4x32 at the lowest power and I don’t mind the extra magnification. I like the eye box on the 4x32 over my 2.5x20.

I have a NX8 4-32 on my .300 wm tikka. I really like it. I wouldn’t hesitate to use shv or nxs either. Get some good rings too. There’s lots of them out there. ARC are really good.
