300 WM Rifle

I had a 6.5 PRC in the Hells Canyon Speed.and it would shout about 3/4" groups at 100 with Hornady ELD-X if you let it cool between shots. Nice rifle. Decided to go with a "standard" magnum caliber instead. Ended up with a Winchester XPR 7mm rem mag and it shoots Hornady ELD-X 163gr with better accuracy than the Browning. It's a little heavier, and the cool kids might not like it, but I'm in it scoped for less than the Browning and couldn't be happier.

If I was going to spend Browning money again, I'd either get the Winchester Model 70 (favorite of all time), or a Tikka based on so many satisfied owners testimonials. I don't need a custom to be happy though.

For some reason Texans always think they need bigger rifles. I knew a guy that swore you needed a 375 H&H for south Texas whitetail.

Ya never know when one of those S Texas black bear are going to come out and grab you, or chupacabras
