300 prc

Built a 300 prc on a defiance action, carbon 6 barrel 1:8 twist 22”. Looking for some powder and bullet combos as I start working up a load. this is an elk rifle with the occasional Moose. I have H1000 but looking for other options in case it doesn’t like it. Any load data for starting would be greatly appreciated!

I’m running 245gr Bergers over 80.0gr of H1000. The load is extraordinarily accurate and has a 1,000-yard elk harvest to its credit. Rifle has a 22'' Proof carbon barrel with a 1:9 twist.

Berger 215 and H1000 was the easy button for my 300 PRC.

Cutting Edge Bullets 200gr Lazer and 215 Berger both on H1000 work great for me. If you email Berger and Cutting Edge they will email you load data tables.

Berger 245gr over Vin N570. It’s shooting exceptionally well out of my 300 prc with a 26” barrel getting 2950 fps. It’s a heavy rifle with a good muzzle brake, so recoil isn’t bad. I don’t think I would shoot this load in a light weight rifle though.

Other things to keep on the radar:
Barnes 208 LRX has a 0.633 BC
RL26 (Mine liked N570 better, but since N570 is a double-base powder I'm thinking about reworking to H1000)

My build also liked factory/boxed 212 ELD-X, so worth keeping that bullet on your list as well.
