Had a failed stalk on him shortly after.. was 800yds here, w/my iPhone. Got almost in range before his cow busted me.

Did you kill this bull? I guessed him at 360 and thought that was generous...I was way off

Found him dead after a long winter. I had seen him for 3 years straight, but could never catch up to him during the season. Finally got eyes on him up close in march, and he looked really bad. Found him a few weeks later while horn hunting in a creek bottom.

He was a fair amount bigger several years before he died, one of my friends had found his sheds and he was packing a lot more mass, and was up around 410. It’s super cool to see a big guy like this die from old age. Just a testament to how smart some of those bulls can get while moving through wolves and hunters.

Montana allows picking up dead heads.

Yeah that’s what I thought too, I had guessed 370. I think it’s because he’s just so long without much mass that it looks like he could be a lot smaller. Here’s a picture of him in hand where you can see how big he actually is
